MEDICATION TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
This 20-hour program prepares individuals for certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing to administer medications at the delegation of and under the supervision of registered nurses to clients in Assisted Living setting.
Tuition: $250 (Includes Registration & Student Manual). Due latest by the 1st day of class.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Medication Technician Training Program consists of 20 hours of classroom instruction, which is presented in two phases:
- Classroom Phase – In this phase, the student completes 20 hours of instruction with a Registered Nurse, Case Manager/Delegating Nurse in the classroom. This phase includes simulated medication administration in the classroom setting.
- Clinical Competency Evaluation Phase – In this phase, the RN Instructor or the RN, Case Manager/Delegating Nurse for the assisted living facility that employs the student observes the student for competency in medication administration to a client in the assisted living facility where the student is employed.
Upon successful completion of the training, the student becomes eligible for registration with the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT).
REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO ADMISSION
The applicant must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be employed by an assisted Living facility
- Complete admission application
- Successfully pass a basic reading examination
- Successfully pass a basic math examination
REQUIREMENTS AFTER ADMISSION BUT PRIOR TO TRAINING
The student must:
- Complete and submit “Verification of Employment” information. Obtain form at NurseOne, Inc.
- Submit a passport photo, full face 2x2 inches, required for registration with Maryland Board of Nursing.

Application & Testing: $25 Due at the time application is submitted. Non-refundable
Registration: $50 Due at time of registration. Fee is applied to tuition
